Grant Yourself the Privilege of a Lifetime: Be You

Do you remember who you are? Who you really are? It can be so easy to forget with all the expectations, real and imagined, that are placed upon us.

JUST THINK ….

First there are the expectations when we are kids. They basically boil down to “be good”. Be a good girl (or boy). Be a good sister (or brother). Be a good friend. Be a good student. And somewhere along the line the ‘be a good daughter (or son)’ also gets thrown into the mix.

Then we embark upon our career and new expectations are added to what’s become already a pretty long list.

Now we’re not only expected to be good. We’re now expected to be the best. To always improve. To always beat the competition. To grow or go.

I’m not even talking about the expectations that society, and let’s face it we do it too, will be placing upon ourselfs should we get to be parents!

With all those expectations it is no wonder that we can lose sight of who it is we really are; of who we expect ourselves to be.

WHY DOES THAT MATTER?

It matters because you’re heart at some point will tell you that it’s having trouble not being aligned with your mind.

Perhaps you feel tired all the time. Or maybe you have this quiet little voice in the back of your mind saying things like “What about me?”

Could be these days you are always snapping at the kids or your colleagues, even though you’re really a cheerful person.

THIS IS WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW

When your heart and mind are seriously out of alignment for long enough, at some point they will start shutting things down and something like a burnout will be the result!

BUT HERE’S DEAL

It doesn’t have to be this way! You’ve still got time to make changes.

If you’ve managed to keep on reading to this point, I know you are ready and willing to start doing just that!

ALLOW YOUR HEART TO TAKE OVER FROM YOUR MIND!

At least for now. Figure out who you are, what you want to do and how you want to do it.

Nobody is served by you being only a vague carbon copy of who you really are. Not your friends, not your family, not your kids, not your partner, but most important of all: not you!!

Create time and space for yourself, so you can reflect upon that those all important questions: who am I and who do I want to be?
