Virtual mountain trek

Everyone is experiencing the effects of social distancing during this COVID-19 pandemic.

Simple things like dropping in on family and friends or going for a walk in the woods are suddenly on our lists of things we truly appreciate being able to do. They turn out to be part of the abundance in our lives we never realised we had.

Connecting with our loved ones over the phone or with video calls is of course wonderful, but it doesn’t replace the bear hugs we want to give them. Especially now!

Going for a stroll around the block is all well and good, but it isn’t the same as walking in a pine tree forest or going into mountains.

Virtual mountain trek

It’s why I consider myself incredibly fortunate to have Nature at my doorstep. Still being allowed to go into the mountains (as long as we maintain social distancing) is a blessing, appreciated more now than ever before.

I realise not everyone has that opportunity and enjoy the release from stress, anxiety and more that Nature brings. And actually taking you into the mountains isn’t possible yet, but I can certainly take you along on a virtual trek.

Every day I post a picture taken on one of my many mountain hikes and treks on Facebook. Hopefully, these pictures help you shift your focus — if even for a moment — away from coronavirus news, lock-downs and social distancing.

As always …

Go dare greatly!
