Think you need to be like Bear Grylls to experience nature? Think again!

DGC | Immerse yourself in nature

You don’t have to be Bear Grylls to immerse yourself in mountains. Or in any other part of Nature for that matter.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m a fan! I’d love to have the guts and confidence to do some of the things he does.

But I have no intention of hanging off helicopters, eating boiled scorpion for lunch or squeezing water from elephant dung to quench my thirst. And I’m sure neither do you.

Having said that, it is perfectly possible to have an incredible, immersive mountain experience without having to go to those extremes.

Bear would be the first to say, you don’t have to be a former SAS-er who has scaled Everest to feel the energy, the strength, the mystery even, of mountains as you hike up their steep sides.

Mountains come in all shapes and sizes, which means there is one out there waiting to be climbed by you.

All you have to do is leave your stressful world behind – if only for a little while -, strap on a backpack and hike into the mountains.

All you have to do is disconnect from regular life and digital noise as you walk slow and breathe in deep.

Connect with the serenity, beauty and freedom that mountains hold. And through that, reconnect with yourself.
