Stuck in the middle

Could I get across without getting my feet wet or was I better off going back? Find a better place to cross or not cross at all?

While out on a short hike this week I came to a stream I wanted to cross. Standing on a rock I found myself a bit stuck in the middle, as I had to figure out whether it was a good idea to commit to going on.

As I stood there I was reminded of how this happens in life too.

How we commit to things without properly thinking it through. How because of that we can find ourselves in difficult positions, questioning the wisdom of our choice. How things might be different had we considered other options.

(I could have hiked to the bridge further up the stream, but then I wouldn’t have this cool picture to share with you 😏)

It’s not all bad though!

Being in a difficult position forces you to leave your comfort zone. To overcome uncertainty, perhaps even fear.

To discover that going forward instead of back might be the very thing you need to do to become the person you want to be.

These and other insights are what my clients take away with them when they join me in the mountains. And mostly without getting their feet wet.

(Oh and yes — I got safely across too 🙂 )

As always …

Go dare greatly!
