I’m Not In This World To Live Up To Your Expectations

It’s not necessarily the other person that projects their expectations onto you. It may very well be that you are projecting onto you the expectiations of others as perceived by you.

For a long time I worked in a profession I didn’t enjoy. I worked at it because at some deeper level I thought doing so would make me live op to someone elses expectations. Even if I didn’t always realize this, eventually it made me profoundly unhappy.

It took me a long time to figure out how to start living up to my own expectations and stop chasing other people’s approval.

Once I figured out what my core values are and started aligning every major decision with those values, I could finally step into my self-confidence and start on a path that was and is entirely my own.

“I’m not in this world to live up to your expectations and you’re not in this world to live up to mine”

Bruce was right! We are not in this world to live up to other people’s expectations!

What about you? Who’s expectations, real or perceived are you living up to?

Share your thoughts below and let me know. Be as specific as you can when you share your thoughts. Other people, Trailblazers like you, will be inspired by your ideas and actions.

As always…

Go dare greatly!
